Meet Ryan the Rescuer

Ryan's badge says RTG — that means "Ready To Go." He helps people stay safe and know what to do in an emergency, and in this book he shows children aged 5-8 how they can help too.

What children will learn

Written by Sarah Stewart for RTG First Aid Ltd, the book follows Ryan and his friends through everyday emergencies, each with its own simple, memorable rhyme:

• Calling for help — "Stay calm. Get help. Be a lifesaver."
• Someone won't wake up / isn't breathing — "Tap. Shout. Get help." and "Call. Push. Stay with them."
• Choking — "Can you cough? Get help. Back blows."
• Burns — "Cool it. Tell. Cool it."
• Bleeding — "Press. Tell. Press."
• Head bumps — "Tell. Rest. Cold."

Every scenario comes with a practice activity, so children can act it out and build real confidence — not just read about it.

A certificate to be proud of

Every child who completes the book earns their own Official RTG Little Lifesaver Certificate, signed by Sarah Stewart of RTG First Aid Ltd.
